So we had a spell of amazing weather here in the usually spongey grounded, Kermit the Frog coloured green valleys and fields Northern Ireland; we're famous for being one of the most lusciously green, soggy countries in the world! So our recent sunny hot weather (and subsequent hosepipe ban that baffled us all - where did all the rain go!?!) has given everybody the gumption to get outside and enjoy it. There have probably been more barbeques, paddling pools and salad sold this summer than has been sold in the last ten summers!
Getting involved in the excitement of the weather, and taking the opportunity to do so, was the Loughgilly Parish with their promisingly titled Loughgilly Family Fun Day, organised for Sunday 22nd July 2018 at the Parochial House in Whitecross, County Armagh.
It was an event that had such a wide range; my kids couldn't decide what they wanted to do first (except the little one actually, who just wanted to sample any one of the five bouncy castles. FIVE!). There were owls, snakes, paddleboating, zorbing, music, dancing, food, artwork provided by the fabulous ROGHA, a photo scanning service to upload your treasured family photo for an evening presentation. Phils Farm were there and were a huge hit with their gorgeously fluffy selection of animals, and World of Owls had some of the most beautiful, and slightly deadly, animals I've ever seen. The children went wild for them!
It was just all about the family, the community; people were catching up, reminiscing, laughing. The atmosphere was really joyous! Well done to everyone involved!
