I was delighted to work with Etain O'Kane, taking photos for her rad new website: Ordinary Badass!
Etain is such a delight; she's eloquent, articulate, extraordinarily clever, very beautiful, and she has such a calm and reassuring composure. you really know she's listening; I nearly told her my entire mental health back catalogue before I'd stirred my sugar in my coffee!
I think I'll let Etain use her words to sum up her inspiration behind Ordinary Badass, a website to help personal development, here:
"You've read the self help books and articles. You've watched the TED talks. You've followed the change makers and tried to think positively.
Maybe you've gone a step further and done the firewalks or attended the retreats and coaching sessions. Yet life is still not giving you what you'd hoped and you keep finding yourself stuck in the same patterns. Why is that?
Because all that inner work is only as valuable as it serves you practically in the real world."
What Ordinary Badass intends to do is to help people along in their personal journey of self development. Sometimes people have a go at things to help with anxiety or self esteem worries, like meditation; perhaps you've thought, as Etain says, "Yes! that's what I want. But I don't know how."
If you've ever looked at yoga, mindfulness, therapeutic colouring and it's just made you feel a bit more anxious as you just don't know where to begin unravelling the web of worry, this is where Ordinary Badass can help. I'd recommend reading her article here about why she set up Original Badass.
You can find her website at https://www.ordinarybadass.com/, and she also has a podcast, lots of free videos and articles.
